RETURN & REFUND POLICY — PLATO JEWELRY

At Plato Jewelry, every piece is handcrafted to order in Greece using natural gemstones and 18K gold.
Because our jewelry is made specifically for each customer’s size and specifications, we follow the EU exemption for customized goods.

This Return & Refund Policy explains when returns are allowed, when they are not, and how we handle defects.

1. Made-to-Order Items — No Returns or Exchanges

All jewelry at Plato is made to order, meaning it is produced according to the customer's selected:

  • Ring size

  • Chain length

  • Stone variation

  • Design specifications

Therefore, returns and exchanges are not accepted.

This follows EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU), Article 16(c), which states that personalized or custom-made items are exempt from the right of withdrawal.

2. Exceptions — Defective or Incorrect Items

We accept responsibility if:

  • The item arrives damaged

  • The item arrives with a manufacturing defect

  • The wrong item was delivered

In these cases, we will repair or replace the piece at no cost.

Timeframe to report a defect:

Please contact us within 48 hours of delivery and include clear photos of the issue so we can assist immediately.

3. Repairs Not Covered Under Warranty

The following situations are not considered defects and are not eligible for free repair or return:

  • Incorrect size provided by the customer

  • Damage caused by wear, impact, chemicals, or misuse

  • Loss or theft

  • Natural variations in gemstones (color, inclusions, shape)

Non-warranty repairs and resizing can be performed for an additional fee.

4. Order Cancellations

Once production begins, orders cannot be canceled or changed, as materials and craftsmanship are prepared specifically for your piece.

If you need to adjust something, contact us immediately — changes may only be possible before production starts.

5. Refunds

Refunds are issued only in the following situations:

  • We are unable to produce your order

  • The product arrives defective and cannot be repaired or replaced

  • A mistake was made on our side and cannot be corrected

In all other cases, purchases are final due to the made-to-order nature of our work.

Refunds will be issued to the original payment method.

6. Packaging & Condition for Return (Defective Items Only)

If we request the item to be sent back for inspection or repair:

  • It must be returned in its original packaging

  • Include the authenticity certificate and any accessories

  • Shipping instructions will be provided by our team
